SPOT
Arai Memorial Art Museum
The Arai Memorial Art Museum stands overlooking the town of Iwanai. The most notable exhibit is the collection of Picasso prints. A total of 267 works are on display, including his masterpiece "Poor Meal" and "Erotica" from his later years. Even those who are not Picasso fans will be drawn into the world of his works.
Also in Building No. 2 are a group of works by painters associated with the prefecture who have painted as they felt after reading Takeo Arishima's novel "The Trouble of Being Born," which was modeled after Kinjiro Kida, or as they felt about the personalities of Kida and Arishima. In addition, the museum also features works by Nishimura Keio, unique special exhibitions, and concerts.
