SPOT
Arai Memorial Museum of Art
The Arai Memorial Museum of Art overlooks the townscape of Iwanai. The highlight of the exhibition is the Picasso print collection. There are 267 pieces in total, including his masterpiece "Poor Meal" and his later work "Erotica." Even those who are not fans of Picasso will be drawn into the world of his works.
In addition, the second building features a collection of works by artists with ties to Hokkaido, created after reading Takeo Arishima's novel "Umaeru izuru nayami," which is based on Kinjiro Kida, or based on their impressions of the personalities of Kida and Arishima. The museum also hosts works by Kazuo Nishimura, unique special exhibitions, and concerts.
