Arai Memorial Art Museum

The Arai Memorial Museum of Art stands as if overlooking the townscape of Iwanai. The highlighted exhibits are the Picasso print collection. Representative works such as "The Frugal Meal," later-year works such as "Erotica," and so on, a grand total of 267 pieces. Even those other than Picasso fans are drawn into the world of the works. Also, in Building No. 2, groups of works that painters associated with Hokkaido painted as they felt the impressions after reading Arishima Takeo's novel "The Agony of Being Born," which was modeled on Kida Kinjiro, or the personalities of Kida and Arishima, are lined up. In addition, at this museum, works by Nishimura Keio, unique special exhibitions, concerts, and so on are also held.
