Moshiri Crystal Park

This facility was built to commemorate the February 17, 1978, record of minus 41.2°C, the coldest temperature in Japan, in the Moshiri district of Horokanai Town.
The monument with a distinctive design on the site is called "Crystal Peaks" and is designed to resemble icicles in the freezing cold.
The February 17 date when -41.2 degrees Celsius was recorded is officially recognized by the Japan Anniversary Association as "Angel Whispering Day," and every February the monument is illuminated and a ceremony is held as the site of the "Gathering to Hear the Whispers of Angels" event.

In the administration building, there is an exhibition room on cold weather, including recent temperature changes, and "Japan's Coldest Temperature Certificate" is available for 100 yen.

Park golf (18 holes) can be enjoyed, and equipment rental (300 yen) is available at the administration building.

In the spring, you can see clusters of katakuris and ezo-engosaku, and many visitors come here to take a walk with a camera in hand.
