A mysterious pond where the water surface looks blue. During the disaster prevention work for Mt. Tokachi, the water accumulated in the embankment, holding a strangely blue color, and combined with the standing dead larch trees, it became a fantastic landscape. Eventually, it came to be called "Blue Pond." The recommendation is, on a well-sunny morning without wind, by all means, please stay in Biei and enjoy the mystical scenery.
The contrast of fresh green and the pond, and the water surface colored by autumn leaves, etc., various blue colors can be enjoyed depending on the season and weather. By all means, please enjoy the fantastic BIEI BLUE (Biei Blue) where different expressions can be enjoyed in each of the four seasons. When visiting, of course, observe tourist manners, and please enjoy by following photography rules.
During the winter period, due to accumulated snow, it is not possible to see the blue water surface. Therefore, the Blue Pond of Biei Town is carrying out a light-up so that it can be enjoyed even in winter.
Note) Absolutely do not cross the fence and enter inside the Blue Pond! It concerns life! In midwinter, the pond freezes, but because there is a danger of the ice breaking, please do not step down onto the pond surface.
