Tokachidake Mochidake-dai (Mt. Tokachi)

Mochidake-dai is located directly below the main peak of Mt. Tokachi in Daisetsuzan National Park, and offers a 360 degree view of Asahidake, the main peak of Daisetsuzan, Bieidake, Bieifuji and Kamifurano-dake as well as Asahikawa City and Furano City below. The bridge on the way from Shirogane Onsen to Bogakudai was named by the late Asahikawa-born writer Ayako Miura.

The autumn foliage spreading over the vast foot of the Tokachi Mountain range is spectacular. Visitors can enjoy a variety of colors centering on Japanese white pine and white birch. The coloring of the autumn leaves and snowy valleys just after the first snowfall (first snowfall), which can only be seen for a few days a year, is spectacular.
