Daisetsuzan National Park is home to numerous mountains of 2,000-meter class. Each has a different appeal, making it a mountain range of endless interest for climbers.
■Kurodake Ski Resort
Located at the top of Kurodake Ropeway from Sounkyo Onsen town, Kurodake Ski Resort is renowned for its magnificent views of Daisetsuzan and high-quality snow.
The season is long, from early November to mid-May, allowing skiing for more than half of the year. Early season from November to December and spring skiing, which can be enjoyed from March until Golden Week in May, are particularly popular. Please enjoy the Sounkyo hot spring area along with skiing.
