1 Niseko Annupuri International Ski Area (Niseko Town)

This is one of the four vast ski areas of "Niseko United," spread across the base of Mt. Niseko Annupuri. Located in a heavy snowfall region, it boasts an abundance of snow throughout the season, ensuring stable snow conditions. With a wide range of courses for everyone from beginners to advanced skiers, it's a ski resort that can be enjoyed by all ages.

2 Niseko Tokyu Grand HIRAFU (Kutchan Town)

This ski resort is also part of the "Niseko United" ski area on Mt. Niseko Annupuri. You can enjoy skiing and snowboarding while taking in the spectacular view of Niseko's main peak, Mt. Yotei.

Guests of the ski-in/ski-out hotel "AYA Niseko" have direct access to the slopes, eliminating the stress of travel before and after skiing. The resort also features onsen (hot spring) facilities, making your stay even more comfortable and enjoyable beyond just skiing.

3 Kiroro Snow World (Akaigawa Village)

Kiroro Snow World is attractive for its easy access, about a 60-minute drive from Sapporo, and its 23 luxurious courses, including a 3,300m gondola and a longest run of 4,050m. The dynamic and vast courses spread across two mountains, Asari and Nagamine, can be enjoyed by everyone from beginners to pros.

Additionally, there are varied natural terrains, deep powder spots, and five adventurous tree run courses, providing a challenging experience for advanced skiers as well.

4 Daisetsuzan Sounkyo Kurodake Ski Area (Kamikawa Town)

Starting your descent from a spot that serves as an observatory in the summer, you'll feel an incredible sense of openness, almost like you're launching into the sky. The course follows a gentle ridge; while the start is a bit steep, the overall gradient is relatively mild. The course splits into a route under the ropeway, a forest trail, and a snow cornice course, allowing you to enjoy a pleasant ride amidst the magnificent scenery of the Daisetsuzan mountains.

5 Nakayama Toge Ski Resort (Kimobetsu Town)

The appeal of this resort lies in its convenience: it's only about a 60-minute drive from Sapporo and offers direct access from the national highway, despite being at a high altitude of 850 meters. The course also features a "Fun Park" with moguls and jumps for intermediate and advanced skiers, making it a great choice for those seeking a thrilling ride.

6 Furano Ski Resort (Furano City)

Located in the inland part of Hokkaido, this ski resort offers exceptional snow quality, even by Hokkaido standards. The free lift tickets for children (elementary school age and younger) are a wonderful service for families.

Staying at the New Furano Prince Hotel gives you zero-minute access to the slopes. You can step right out of the hotel and onto the slopes, and with Furano city just a 10-minute drive away, you can easily enjoy some sightseeing after a day of skiing.

7 Sapporo Kokusai Ski Resort (Sapporo City)

Sapporo Kokusai Ski Resort, located in Sapporo's Minami Ward, is famous for its heavy snowfall and is about a 60-minute drive from central Sapporo. It's an easily accessible resort for travelers, and can even be enjoyed as a day trip from major cities like Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya.

Its main attraction is the variety of courses. There are seven courses in total, ranging from a wide family course over 100 meters in width to a dynamic downhill course for advanced skiers. The maximum run is 3,600 meters, and the view from near the 1,100-meter summit is also highly recommended.
