1. Sapporo Kokusai Ski Resort (Sapporo City)
Located near Jozankei Onsen, this comprehensive ski resort boasts some of the best powder snow in Hokkaido and a vast slope. There are seven courses in total, making it a great place for everyone from beginners to advanced skiers. For moguls, there is a downhill course with a maximum slope of 30 degrees, and for snowboarders, there are jumps such as table tops, as well as a snow park where you can have fun on sleds and tubes.

2. Sapporo Teine (Sapporo City)
This comprehensive leisure facility is located on Mt. Teine, and in winter the entire mountain becomes a ski resort. The "Women's Giant Slalom Course" and "Men's and Women's Slalom Course", which were the stage for the Sapporo Olympics in 1972 (Showa 47), are courses that any skier would want to try at least once. The course that starts from the Olympic flame, which still remains today, gives you the feeling of jumping into Ishikari Bay, and there are a variety of attractive courses, including a beginner's course that is up to 6km long and a challenging course that steeply descends through the forest.

3. Sapporo Bankei Ski Resort (Sapporo City)
Located near the center of Sapporo, this ski resort is open until 10pm, so you can easily drop by after work. It has a total of 17 courses, from gentle slopes for families to the FIS-certified mogul course, which was the venue for the 2017 Sapporo Asian Winter Games, and the largest half-pipe in Japan. At WakuWaku Snow Land, located in a safe area separate from the general slopes, you can enjoy various snow activities such as tubing, and even tourists and children who have never skied before can have fun.

3. Niseko Tokyu Grand Hirafu (Kutchan Town)
Niseko Tokyu Grand Hirafu is a ski resort with over 20 different courses, where you can enjoy skiing while looking out at Mt. Yotei, one of the 100 most famous mountains in Japan. The dynamic courses with a maximum elevation difference of 940m, the abundant snow volume, and the quality of the powder snow attract many skiers and snowboarders from both Japan and overseas. 4. Rusutsu Resort (Rusutsu Village)
It is a huge ski resort with three mountains: West Mountain, East Mountain, and Mount Isola. With 37 courses and a total run length of 42 kilometers, it is the largest in Hokkaido. There is also a gondola that connects the east and west mountains across the national highway, so you can enjoy a variety of runs. 2. Asahidake Ropeway (Higashikawa Town)
Asahidake is known for its expansive white world and high-quality powder snow, and skiers and snowboarders from all over the world come to enjoy mountain skiing. The Asahidake Ropeway is also in operation during the winter, taking skiers up to 1,600m in place of a ski lift. 3. Daisetsuzan Sounkyo Kurodake Ski Resort (Kamikawa Town)
Daisetsuzan Sounkyo Kurodake Ski Resort is a representative Hokkaido mountain ski resort located on the northeastern slope of Mt. Kurodake and can be accessed by ropeway from Sounkyo Onsen town. It is well-known for the spectacular views of Mt. Daisetsu and the high-quality snow. Piyashiri Ski Resort is known for having the best quality snow in Japan. 4. Horokanai National Ski Resort
This ski resort is popular with advanced skiers due to its blessed natural environment and challenging steep slopes. The snow is dry and fluffy, with almost no moisture due to the night freeze, so you can enjoy winter sports. As it is one of the snowiest areas in Hokkaido, there is ample snowfall and there are four courses ranging from beginner to advanced. The slopes, which still have ungroomed snow, are a powder freak's paradise.

1. Utara National Lake Akan Ski Resort (Kushiro City)
This ski resort is attractive for its beautiful location overlooking Mount Oakan and Lake Akan. The slopes, which have excellent snow quality, have two courses: a beginner/intermediate course and an advanced course. A ski resort where you can enjoy the unique scenery of the Sea of Okhotsk and powder snow. Of the seven courses, six allow snowboarding, so snowboarders can enjoy themselves without hesitation. From the slopes, you can get a panoramic view of the Sea of Okhotsk, and skiing while watching the drift ice is a fun experience. It is close to the city center and located along the national highway, so it is easily accessible.
