In autumn, swans fly to Onuma as a stopover point for their wintering grounds and in spring as a resting place on their way back to Siberia. The Onuma Bird House, a log house facing the swamp, has an observation room and exhibition corner, and binoculars and telescopes are available for free rental, making it a popular observation station for swans and many other water birds.
