This is the only active plant in Hokkaido that manufactures rails. The building itself has a long history and has been designated as a Heritage of Industrial Modernization. Old rails are used in the factory, and the oldest one was made in the U.S. in 1876. The Goryo Star mark on the wall can be seen in only five places in Hokkaido, and the rail center is one of them.
The interior of the rail center is not open to visitors, only the exterior is open to visitors.
