Konpira Shrine is located in Misakidai Park, and its characteristic feature is a red large torii gate standing majestically in the sea. Shosanbetsu Village has many photo spots, but among them, it is a recommended spot. Also, the sunset overlapping the torii gate standing in the sea is an ideal shutter point. Long ago, in the sea around this area, there were many sea accidents due to rough waves, and people were troubled by them. One day, a fisherman living nearby, who found Konpira-sama's amulet washed ashore on the cape, thought "it would be a waste if it were here," and returned the amulet to the sea. However, the next day also, the amulet was found in the same place again, and even if he returned it, even if he returned it, the amulet came back, so the fisherman decided to enshrine the amulet on a nearby rocky area. As a result, there is a legend that maritime accidents in this vicinity almost ceased to exist. Throughout the Taisho and Showa eras, renovations and new constructions of the main hall were carried out by volunteers twice, and in Showa 56 (1981), the large torii gate was built. In Heisei 28 (2016), it was designated as a tangible cultural property of the village, and under the nickname "Konpira-san," it is still cherished even now.
