Otaru International Information Center & Port Marche Otarue
Overview
The 'Otaru International Information Center,' which opened on March 25, 2024, has staff who can speak English, Chinese, and Korean, and the 'Port Marche Otarue,' a souvenir shop handling specialty products from Otaru and Shiribeshi.
The information center has a three-sided counter, making it easy to assist multiple customers, and the pamphlet racks are placed by the windows for better visibility of the materials. In addition to displaying promotional videos and spot introductions for Otaru tourism on digital signage, a foreign currency exchange machine is also available. There is also an abundance of pamphlets for the Otaru and Shiribeshi area, as well as tourist maps in foreign languages.
At 'Port Marche Otarue,' a wide variety of products are available, focusing on tourist souvenirs such as Otaru's confections and sweets, marine products, and crafts, as well as specialty goods from the Otaru vicinity, famous Hokkaido confections, and small items like T-shirts and magnets.
Three large containers are set up within the parking area. They can be used for selling takeout food and drinks, and as a rest space for customers.
