SPOT
Kintohira Sakura Park
Approximately 650 Ezo Yamazakura cherry trees bloom on a 30,000 m2 mountain surface. Many cherry trees also bloom at the adjacent shrine, and the entire mountain is covered with Ezo-yamazakura, making it a popular cherry blossom viewing spot.
It takes about 20 minutes by car from the city center. The rows of approximately 650 cherry trees, including Ezo-yamazakura, yaezakura, and someiyoshino cherry trees, make this the best cherry blossom viewing spot in Kitami City.
At the precincts of Kintohira Shrine at the top of the mountain, a family festival with a fair, karaoke, children's game contests, etc. is held during the cherry blossom season, attracting many people. The date of the festival is subject to change depending on the blooming of the cherry trees.
