Cherry Blossoms Filling a Vast Expanse: Kitami Flower Paradise (Kitami City)

On a vast site about six times the size of the Tokyo Dome, 30,000 flowers of 85 species bloom each season. In spring, you can see Ezo mountain cherry blossoms, Ezo purple azaleas, magnolias, and tulips. In summer, hydrangeas and roses, and in autumn, autumn leaves and chrysanthemums create a beautiful symphony of flowers and greenery.

A Mountain Covered in Pale Pink: Kotohira Sakura Park (Kitami City)

This is the number one cherry blossom spot in Kitami City, with about 650 Ezo mountain cherry trees blooming on the mountainside. In addition to the Ezo mountain cherry trees, there are rows of double-flowered cherry and Somei Yoshino cherry trees. Many cherry trees also bloom at the adjacent Kotohira Shrine, covering the entire mountain in blossoms. During the cherry blossom season, the shrine grounds host festivals with food stalls, karaoke, and game tournaments for the whole family to enjoy.

Enjoy Cherry and Moss Phlox Blossoms at the Same Time: Taiyo no Oka Engaru Park (Engaru Town)

This vast 65-hectare park utilizes an entire hill, from its peak to its base, filling it with colorful flowers. From spring to early summer, Ezo mountain cherry trees, pale pink moss phlox, and azaleas are in full bloom. From summer to autumn, you can enjoy various flowers, including 10 million cosmos flowers. The park also has the Miharashi Farm, and on a clear day, you can see all the way to the Sea of Okhotsk.

Two Ezo Mountain Cherry Trees Standing Side by Side: The Twin Cherry Trees (Tsubetsu Town)

The Twin Cherry Trees are two Ezo mountain cherry trees standing close together on a hill behind the Tsubetsu Woodcraft Museum, KINOS. A picture book has even been published about these trees. Their quiet, embracing appearance brings a strange sense of happiness to those who see them.

A Family-Friendly Hanami Spot with Plenty of Playground Equipment: Recreation Park (Kunneppu Town)

In spring, Recreation Park is vividly colored with Ezo mountain cherry and moss phlox blossoms. In summer, you can enjoy outdoor activities like barbecues and picnics. In autumn, the foliage is beautiful, and in winter, you can go skiing, offering various ways to have fun throughout the seasons. There is also a kids' square where children can play on rope-climbing structures, a zipline, and wooden playground equipment.

A Powerful Landscape of Waterfalls and Cherry Blossoms: Sakura Falls (Kiyosato Town)

Sakura Falls is 2.5 meters high. In spring, the surrounding cherry trees bloom, and from June to August, you can watch cherry salmon (sakuramasu) jump up the waterfall. It's a precious spot where you can see the beautiful scenery of cherry blossoms and the waterfall in spring, the powerful sight of the jumping salmon from June onwards, and the fish turning a cherry-pink color as they approach spawning season around August.

Satisfy Your Stomach and Soul Under the Cherry Blossoms: Nakashibetsu Maruyama Park (Nakashibetsu Town)

Nakashibetsu Maruyama Park was created using the former riverbed of the Shibetsu River. At the barbecue corner under about 200 cherry trees, you can enjoy flower viewing while having a barbecue. From the mountain in the center of the park, you can get a panoramic view of the town. There is also a local museum within the park where you can learn about the history of the town's pioneering days.
