Hachimanzaka Slope

Hachimanzaka, named after the Hakodate Hachiman Shrine, which is said to have once stood on the slope, is one of Hakodate's most popular viewing spots. The hill is a road leading from the red brick warehouses to Mount Hakodate, and the view from the bottom of Hakodate West High School at the end of the hill is particularly spectacular. It is also known as "Charmy Green Slope," and was once used as a location for commercials. During the Hakodate Illumination in winter, the trees and cobblestones along the street are beautifully illuminated, offering visitors a different seasonal attraction.
