Ayamegahara Primeval Flower Garden
The Ayamegahara Primeval Flower Garden is located on Route 123, which runs from Kushiro City through Akkeshi Town to Kiritappu in Hama-naka Town, and is also one of the scenic spots on the North Pacific Seaside Line, the "Cape and Flower Mist Highway."
Located at an altitude of 100m, this vast primeval flower garden covers an area of approximately 100ha. There is a walking path in the center, where you can enjoy more than 100 kinds of plants, including approximately 300,000 Iris arvensis, Hakusan thrush, and buttercups. The collaboration of the grazing horses and the endless horizon is a spectacular sight.
*The horses are normally allowed out to graze from June to October, but due to construction work being carried out on the premises in 2024 and 2025, they will not be allowed out to graze.
