A 1 km long boardwalk, including "Menushoro Swamp" reflecting Mt. Rishiri, leads to the plant colony. This is the island's largest high-rise marshland with well-developed mizugoke, and information on seasonal flowers is posted on a sign at the entrance. Although there are no stores or restroom facilities, this is a spot where visitors can take their time to enjoy the pristine nature, precious marshlands, and numerous alpine plants protected by the hands of many people. The twinkling stars in the sky over Mt. Rishiri from the Minamihama marshland are breathtaking, making it a great place to take time-lapse photographs.
