SPOT
Rishiri Island Family Campsite Yuuni
This campsite is located opposite the Rishiri Fuji Hot Springs Resort. Near the campsite is the Sakaemachi Campsite Ruins (historic site), where stone tools were discovered as the first traces of human presence on Rishiri Island. As this is a historical site on Rishiri Island and the history of the region is deeply connected to the Ainu people, the campsite was named "Yu-ni," which means "a place with hot water" in Ainu (as the hot springs are located nearby). The cottages and bungalows within the facility were built with universal design in mind.
