SPOT
The Sarobetsu Wilderness, which stretches to the west of Horonobe Town, is designated as the Rishiri-Rebun Sarobetsu National Park. It is blessed with rich nature including meandering rivers, large and small swamps, wild birds, and 50 varieties of flowers including the Ezo Kanzo. In November 2005, the park was newly registered as a wetland under the Ramsar Convention (Convention on Wetlands of International Importance especially as Waterfowl Habitat).
