SPOT
21st Century Forest Campsite
A place where you can fully enjoy the outdoors surrounded by nature
This facility is adjacent to the town of Tsubetsucho, and the Tsubetsu River flows next to the campsite. Across a wooden bridge there is a park golf course, so it is a place where you can fully enjoy the outdoors surrounded by nature. Facilities include a rice cooker, flush toilets (including toilets for the disabled), wooden playground equipment, a barbecue house, coin showers, bungalows, and a parking lot (free of charge).
From mid-July to mid-August, you can see fireflies in the stream that runs next to the site, and enjoy the fantastical sight of fireflies flying around in the night sky above the campsite.
Additionally, the Firefly Festival, organized by the NPO Tsubetsu Nature Association, is held every year in mid-July.
