Mt. Kombu
Overview
Rising 1045.1m above sea level on the border between Toyoura Town and Niseko Town, Mt. Kombu is characterized by its mountain shape, which protrudes like a knob from its summit. In Ainu language, it is called "Tokonpo Nupuri" (small knob mountain), and the name "Kombudake" was used instead of "Kampodake" in the past. Kombudake, which is well known as a climber-friendly mountain, is a 5.7-km course that takes about 3 hours from the trailhead to the summit and 2 hours down. From the summit, Mt. Usu, Lake Toya, and Mt. Yotei can be seen, making mountain climbing fun and enjoyable.
