Otaru Music Box Museum Main Building
Overview
Celestial music that has descended upon Otaru. This is one of Japan's largest music box specialty stores, marked by the steam clock at the Marchen Crossroads. The building, a historic structure built in 1915 (Taisho 4), preserves the history of Otaru from a bygone era just as it was. The exquisite harmony created by the nostalgic space and the music boxes produces a magical time that can only be experienced here.
With one of the largest selections in Japan, featuring approximately 3,200 types and a total of about 38,000 music boxes, they are very popular as souvenirs of a visit to Otaru and as gifts for loved ones.
