Abies sachalinensis
Overview
The sight of standing dead Abies sachalinensis eroded by sea water is truly reminiscent of the ends of the earth. The desolate landscape evokes a sense of the providence of nature. The erosion is still progressing, and this scene may disappear in the near future. You can see it by walking along the wooden walking path from the Notsuke Peninsula Nature Center.
In addition, tractor buses operate during the season (late April through October), and walking from Notsuke Bay by bus or sightseeing boat is also popular.
After the wooden path was damaged by a low-pressure disaster in 2014, restoration work was carried out, and a new wooden path was installed in 2016, making it possible to walk along the path.
