Sapporo Shiroishi Ward has a new government complex that was newly constructed in 2016 (Heisei 28). It is a familiar place that residents of Shiroishi Ward have visited at least once, including the ward office and health center. We heard that there is a relaxation space for ward residents to gather in such a facility, so we went there right away.

The rest space was a café called "Genki Cafe Blanc" (hereinafter referred to as "Blanc"), located on the first floor of the building. What is interesting is that it is located on the same floor as the ward office.
The counter of the Family and Resident Registration Division is right in front of the café space shown in the photo. You don't see this kind of scene at ward offices very often, but it's kind of interesting.
The system is to order at the order counter and pay in advance. Bran has quite a variety of snacks, sweets, and drinks! I was given a few recommendations, so let me introduce them to you.
First up are the Shiroppi Cookies and Kuroppi Cookies (160 yen each, tax included). Shiroppi, who also appears in the top photo this time, is the official mascot of Shiroishi Ward. Later, a rival, Kuroppi, was also created. He is quite popular, and his cookies are also popular for their cute, crunchy and light texture.
"Shiroppi Pudding" and "Kuroppi Pudding" (260 yen each, tax included) also sell well. The Shiroppi Pudding has a gentle flavor with just the right amount of firmness, while the Kuroppi Pudding is smooth and has the richness and flavor of sesame seeds. Both are delicious!
Also popular are the breads baked right here on site. Not only the dough, but also the red bean paste is handmade. The photo above shows Kabocha Anpan (160 yen including tax) and the photo below shows 3 pieces of bread (160 yen including tax). 3 pieces of bread consists of plain, sweet potato, and sesame in one, and is also available as a set with soup.
If you are craving something a little sweet, we recommend the "Anmitsu set" (400 yen including tax). It comes with warm hojicha (roasted green tea), and is a great way to relax and unwind.
The "Shiraishi White Coffee" (370 yen including tax) with whipped cream on top of cafe mocha is also especially tempting on cold days. On the day we visited for the interview, many customers were coming in and out of the shop. They seemed to stop by after finishing their business at the ward office.

It is truly a place of relaxation for Shiroishi Ward residents. The building complex is conveniently located directly connected to the Shiroishi Subway Station, which makes me a little envious.
