The figure of Dr. Clark standing tall and pointing straight ahead. The statue of Dr. Clark is extremely famous at "Sapporo Hitsujigaoka Observatory" (hereinafter Hitsujigaoka Observatory), but in fact, that's not all. Did you know that in the winter, you can enjoy various activities? Let's take a look at what's available!
Because it is a famous tourist spot, people from outside Hokkaido may think that Hitsujigaoka Observatory is in the center of Sapporo. In fact, it is located in Hitsujigaoka, Toyohira Ward, Sapporo, about 30 minutes by car from Sapporo Station. If you don't have a car, you will need to take the subway and a bus to get there.
Because it is located in the suburbs, it boasts a large site area, and when the snow season comes, you can enjoy a variety of activities. It is called "Hitsujigaoka Snow Park 2022". This year, it is scheduled to be held until Sunday, March 6th.
We'll show you what it's like to actually experience it in the video at the end, but let's take a look at some of the lineup in detail. First up is the tube slide.
This is an activity where you slide down a snowy mountain on a tube. There are single and double seats, so even small children can enjoy it together with adults. Surprisingly, adults can get addicted to this fun activity too.

And walking skiing.
Put on your skis and walk through the pure white snow fields. It's okay if you can't ski! There are short courses available for beginners and small children to try, so feel free to explore the silvery white world.
We also recommend making a mini snowman, where you can make a one-of-a-kind snowman. It's fun to make one for each family member and line them up. Don't forget to take a commemorative photo with your snowman.

There are also plenty of other ways to enjoy snow country, such as snow slides (mini slides) and snow igloos! Why not have fun to your heart's content, blowing away the cold?
*We filmed the actual snow activities in action! Please take a look at the video.
