Naganuma Town is just an hour's drive from Sapporo and a mere 30 minutes from New Chitose Airport. Here, you can indulge in high-quality natural hot springs at "Naganuma Onsen." This large and famous onsen inn is so accessible that a JR bus stop is located right at its entrance. With excitement building, let's step inside.

In addition to a large and a small main bath, there is also a jacuzzi and a cold water bath for the sauna. You'll be tempted to try every tub, but let's start with the open-air bath (rotenburo).

Naganuma Onsen's water flows directly from the source, which has a high temperature of 51°C. With this much snow falling, it feels like the perfect temperature for a long, relaxing soak.

The spring's quality is an iodine-containing sodium-chloride strong salt spring. Its high salt content warms the body from the core, earning it the nickname "Atsu no Yu" (hot water for warmth). The indoor bathing area offers both high-temperature and low-temperature tubs, which is a nice touch, allowing you to choose your preferred heat.
