To tell the truth, I originally came to Hiroo to hunt Ezo sika deer, so I wasn't that interested in anything but the mountains. But the people are kind, the scenery is beautiful, nature is close at hand, and the primary industry professionals are all here. I began to think that Hiroo is a very enjoyable town with almost no tourist attractions, and before I knew it, I started coming here outside of the hunting season.

The charm of Hiroo is its "humanity. If you tell them you have been bitten by an insect, they will give you a stick of hacca (peppermint), if your skin gets dry, they will apply bear fat to it, and if the front door suddenly rattles open, you will be greeted with a "Maya-chan, here are some potato cakes! They are all like relatives.

Publication commemorative event full of the town's charm

On Sunday, June 12, 2022, a party will be held at "Chuichi" in Obihiro City to celebrate the publication of the book.

At "HIROOMarket" starting at 11:00, you can enjoy sales of gelato from Kikuchi Farm, starburst kelp, dried fruits from toutell, etc., as well as a photo exhibition by photographer Mr. Daichi Akama, "Deer Woman's greedy deer sandwich" and "Fried phantom fish tartar sandwich" using ingredients from the town, and other Foods such as "Deer Woman's Greedy Deer Sandwich" and "Fried Fish Tartar Sandwich" using local ingredients are also available.

From 4:30 p.m., a talk show will be held with three of the town's leading producers, including Maya Nakamura, who spoke at the event, Koichi Hoshi, a fisherman, and Aki Kikuchi, a dairy farmer.
