Iwamizawa City

There are many famous poplar tree-lined avenues in Hokkaido. One of them is the rows of poplar trees in Iwamizawa City. Let us introduce in detail where you can see the rows of poplar trees in Iwamizawa!

As soon as you enter the road leading from Route 234 to the amusement park "Hokkaido Greenland," you will immediately see them. The view of tall poplars lined up side by side is quite overwhelming.

In fact, this is not the only road lined with Iwamizawa poplar trees. After reaching Greenland, turn right or left at the T-junction, and the rows of poplar trees continue.

This side road will seem even more spectacular with poplars standing on both sides. The straight road and the poplars standing toward the sky create a clear and wonderful view by cutting the space in a straight line. And the rows of poplar trees still continue on the farm road that extends vertically from the side road.

In other words, you can see rows of poplar trees along the entire route from Route 234 toward Greenland, then turn right onto the farm road...and so on.

The Iwamizawa poplar trees in this area stretch about 7,600 meters, and there are about 470 poplar trees. They were planted between 2001 and 2003, and have been pruned naturally every five years since then.

Incidentally, if you stand on the gazebo in Iwamizawa Park, you can see a wide view of the Iwamizawa poplar trees. The rows of poplar trees seen from above are also a spectacular view. The Ferris wheel of Greenland can also be seen from the same vantage point, giving you a bird's eye view of the world.

This time, we have shown you the Iwamizawa poplar-lined avenue from spring to summer, but the scenery will surely change drastically as the seasons change. If you are interested, why not visit during your favorite season?
