As you turn off National Route 234 onto the road leading to the Hokkaido Greenland amusement park, it immediately comes into view. The landscape of tall poplar trees lined up in a single row is quite a breathtaking sight.

Actually, the Iwamizawa Poplar Avenue isn't just on this road. When you reach Greenland and turn right or left at the T-junction, the poplar avenue continues.

This side road, with poplars standing on both sides, should feel even more impressive. The straight road and the poplars reaching for the sky create a clean, wonderful view by cutting through the space linearly. And the poplar avenue still continues along the farm roads that extend perpendicularly from the side road.

In other words, you can see the poplar avenue throughout the entire route from National Route 234 towards Greenland, and even after turning right onto the farm road.

The Iwamizawa Poplar Avenue in this area is said to have about 470 poplar trees standing over a stretch of approximately 7,600 meters. They were planted around 2001-2003 and have since been pruned in a natural style every five years.
