When people hear Iwamizawa Park, those living nearby might think, "Oh, that's where Greenland is," or "It's famous for its roses." But did you know that Iwamizawa Park has a spot called the "Miharashi-dai" (Observation Deck) with a spectacular view? Let's go check it out!

Iwamizawa Park is a large-scale urban park covering about 183 hectares, located about an hour from Sapporo. The park itself is situated in a hilly area, and the observation deck is on an even smaller hill.

First, head for the parking lot on the hill. If you're walking, it's about a 30-minute walk from the amusement park entrance. Right next to the parking lot, there's a barrier-free walking path that leads to the observation deck. Follow the path, and you'll soon see...

An impressive observation deck building! The building itself is 8.7 meters tall, and when you reach the top, a magnificent landscape unfolds below you. This observation deck was built in 2004.

You can see not only Iwamizawa Park but also a tree-lined road that cuts across your view, with fields and mountains beyond. Gazing at this vast green scenery makes you feel as if your own heart is expanding.

Looking to the northwest, you can see the Ferris wheel of Greenland. From the observation deck, everything looks so tiny, just like a diorama world. This endless expanse of sky and land is a view unique to Hokkaido.

With a parking lot and a well-maintained walking path, the observation deck is easily accessible to everyone. You can enjoy this wonderful view from spring to autumn, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. It is closed during the winter for safety reasons.
