Once beloved by the citizens of Sapporo and a symbol of youth culture, the "4-chome Plaza," affectionately known as "4-Pla," is being reborn. On its former site, a new commercial facility, "4PLA," is set to open in the summer of 2025! The entire building will be named "Sapporo 4-chome Place." The commercial area, "4PLA," will span from the first basement floor to the third floor, while the fourth to thirteenth floors will be office space. Featuring a food and drink bar, a meeting spot with views of the city tram, an indoor park, and many other attractive spaces, "4PLA" is poised to become a new symbol of Sapporo. Here's a comprehensive look at its highlights!

"4PLA" is located at the "4-chome Crossroads" scramble crossing in Minami 1-jo Nishi 4-chome, the heart of Sapporo's Odori area. This is where "4-chome Plaza," a hub of youth culture, stood for 50 years. "4PLA" inherits its history and the nickname "4-Pla" while evolving for a new era.

The building's name is "Sapporo 4-chome Place." The commercial facility "4PLA" will occupy the first basement to the third floor, while the fourth to thirteenth floors will be office space. Additionally, the first and third floors will feature a "community living room," a public space for everyone to use, making it a new hub in the Sapporo Odori district for citizens and tourists alike.

At 4PLA, three stores on the first floor have already opened, and the second and third floors will open on Thursday, August 7, 2025. Furthermore, the remaining first basement floor, featuring the "ODORiBA Odori Bar"—a bar alley where you can enjoy day drinking—is scheduled for its grand opening on Thursday, October 9. This time, we'll also share information on the new tenants opening in the "ODORiBA Odori Bar."

First, let's introduce the three stores on the first floor that opened ahead of the rest on Friday, April 25, 2025.

First Roadside Store in Hokkaido Area: "Tudor Boutique Sapporo by BOLTE"

Tudor has opened "Tudor Boutique Sapporo by BOLTE," its first roadside store in Hokkaido, as a new base that embodies the brand's philosophy of pursuing the "ultimate tool watch."

Located on a corner of the first floor facing Odori, the store features an open space that lets in plenty of natural light. In addition to having one of the largest displays in Japan, you can fully experience the brand's world through exhibits like the TUDOR Pro Cycling Team's racing gear and a "Born To Dare" installation. Enjoy a special encounter with a diverse collection, including boutique-exclusive models.

Based on the philosophy of "Design From Scratch," the store offers a rich lineup of the highest quality products designed without compromise to enable peak performance. The interior is a space where you can relax and choose products while experiencing the premium world of Arc'teryx.

Furthermore, this premium store will house Japan's second "ReBIRD™ Service Center," where customers can receive face-to-face assistance for product concerns, repairs, and washing care.

"Gong cha," a Global Tea Cafe Originating from Taiwan

"Gong cha" is a global tea cafe that originated in Taiwan and now has over 2,300 stores worldwide. Using high-quality tea leaves, they carefully brew tea in-store with meticulous attention to water temperature and brewing time.

You can casually enjoy a variety of high-quality tea menu items, including their popular milk tea, which emphasizes the original flavor and aroma of the tea leaves, customized to your liking.

ODORiBA Odori Bar

The first basement floor will feature "ODORiBA Odori Bar," scheduled to open on Thursday, October 9, 2025. Based on the concept of a "bar alley where you can enjoy day drinking," eight unique establishments will gather here. The space is characterized by a large area enveloped in green and neon, suitable for a wide range of occasions from lunch to evening drinks. Here, we introduce all eight tenants and the "Odoriba Seats" which will also feature a DJ booth.

Shihachi Sengyoten 4PLA Store (Seafood Izakaya)

A fish market, seafood bowl spot, and sushi bar where you can drink from noon.
Enjoy drinks with local fish from midday. We offer classic seafood bowls and reasonably priced sushi. Savor seasonal fresh fish at local prices all year round. Feel free to indulge in fresh fish at a great value!

Korean Oyster Sakaba Donsoku (Korean Izakaya)

Communal "Odoriba Seats"

Inside "ODORiBA Odori Bar," there are plans for communal "Odoriba Seats" where you can order food and drinks from multiple tenants via mobile order (some stores and menu items are limited). The Odoriba Seats area will have a DJ booth, where a state-of-the-art AI system will act as a DJ, selecting the music for the facility. Additionally, events featuring artists active in Sapporo are planned.

4PLA SPOT

The first floor will feature retail stores that serve as the face of the building, as well as a new meeting spot for Odori called "4PLA SPOT." Located right in front of the "Nishi 4-chome Station" streetcar stop and adjacent to a cafe stand, it's the perfect place to meet up with a coffee in hand or take a short break. It will be a convenient and comfortable space for users of the Sapporo streetcar and subway.

4PLA PARK

The second and third floors will be lined with shops for shopping and dining. A highlight is the third-floor indoor park, "4PLA PARK." With greenery and artificial turf, it's like an urban park that can be enjoyed even in winter. The outer perimeter will be an outdoor terrace, allowing you to relax while enjoying the atmosphere of Sapporo's cityscape.

Starbucks (Tea & Cafe)

A Starbucks specializing in vibrant and aromatic tea beverages for a colorful and heartwarming tea time.
We offer a wide variety of tea beverages from our tea brand TEAVANA™, which features carefully selected high-quality tea leaves and botanical ingredients. We deliver a fun and fragrant Starbucks tea experience in a sophisticated space where you can feel the colors of tea.

Goldwin Sapporo

Goldwin, which develops activewear for enjoying nature, is opening.
Goldwin is a brand for making the moment of becoming one with nature the purest experience. Based on solid technical capabilities and a unique aesthetic of "DEDICATION TO DETAIL" passed down since its founding, we offer a nearly full lineup of functional yet stylish wear. Through Goldwin's products, we propose an active lifestyle where you can fully enjoy the magnificent nature of Sapporo. Store-exclusive items are also planned.

RAGTAG

Designer brand second-hand select shop "RAGTAG" opens its first store in Hokkaido.
The first store in the Hokkaido area, "RAGTAG Sapporo Store," is opening in the Odori area. The spacious 220㎡ store will feature about 2,000 second-hand items, focusing on popular domestic and international brands. In an open space, a wide range of products from casual to luxury will be available for your shopping pleasure. The store is equipped with two private rooms for buying, ensuring a discreet and fulfilling buy-back service. Experience the valuable encounters that only RAGTAG can offer.

oj Kōhī × TANITA CAFÉ

A collaboration store between Tanita's "TANITA CAFÉ" and Sapporo's cafe "oj Kōhī" is opening.
A takeout-only cafe with the theme of "mental well-being" such as fun and comfort. Not only can you enjoy the monthly recommended coffee selected by the coffee specialty store oj Kōhī, but we also offer collaboration menus with Tanita Shokudo, specializing in health and beauty with calorie and nutritional calculations. Enjoy healthy bento boxes for office workers and fun, delicious sweets conscious of health, such as calories and sugar content.

Jiyuichi Bar

A free-spirited BAR where old and new intersect, nostalgic and new.
Jiyuichi Bar is a mix-style establishment of a street-corner candy store and a standing bar, fusing the tradition of 4-Pla with a new breath of life. It mixes candy and sundries, craft beer, standing drinks, and chance encounters between people. It's a new community crossroads where everyone, from office workers to students, can casually drop by and chat.

The fourth to thirteenth floors of Sapporo 4-chome Place are eco-friendly office spaces. Using 100% renewable energy, the building has also obtained "Zero Carbon Promotion Building" certification. It's an office space fit for the new era.

Inside 4PLA, art pieces will be sequentially displayed, mainly in the public "community living room" and "ODORiBA Odori Bar." With the hope that 4PLA will become a new venue for activities and provide visitors with another reason to enjoy their visit, we will collaborate with a wide range of creators, including local talents, startups, and universities, to create these works.

Various In-house Art Productions in Collaboration with "Heralbony"

On the temporary enclosure during the construction of 4PLA, as an initiative to create a lively streetscape, we are collaborating with Heralbony Co., Ltd. to display six works by five artists from Hokkaido, primarily with intellectual disabilities. These works will be cleaned, mounted on panels, and continue to be displayed inside the building after opening.

In the 3rd-floor community living room, we will use art data from four artists contracted by the company to create a unique and individualistic spatial design.

Upcycling Local Unused Resources into Paint in Collaboration with "NULL"

Sapporo has a cityscape that utilizes local materials like brick and Sapporo soft stone, and the long-loved fashion building "4-chome Plaza" also had a brick-based interior. At 4PLA, in collaboration with "NULL," we will turn normally discarded local unused resources, such as scraps of brick and Sapporo soft stone, into paint. This paint will be used to create planters in the 3rd-floor community living room and artwork in the B1 ODORiBA Odori Bar.

Collaboration with Local Artists through the "Re-Bear Project"

In collaboration with Ies Inc., which promotes the "Re-Bear Project," we will take the "carved wooden bears" sleeping in the homes and warehouses of people connected to Sapporo. Together with local artists selected through a public call, we will transform these "carved wooden bears" into works of art and display them inside 4PLA, giving the bears a new home.

Access is superb! It's directly connected to Odori Subway Station and is right in front of the Nishi 4-chome streetcar stop. Being in the center of Sapporo, it's easily accessible from anywhere.

Inheriting the history of "4-chome Plaza" while evolving into the future, "4PLA" and "Sapporo 4-chome Place" are packed with spaces that make everyday life a little more special, such as the basement food and drink bar, the indoor park, and convenient public areas. With the pre-opening, we can't wait for the grand opening in the summer of 2025!
