"4PLA", or 4th Chome Plaza, was once loved by Sapporo residents and was familiar as a symbol of youth culture. A new commercial facility, "4PLA", will open on its former site in spring 2025! The name of the entire building is "Sapporo 4th Chome Place". The first basement floor to the third floor above ground will be developed as the commercial area "4PLA", and the fourth to thirteenth floors will be office space. We will introduce the highlights of "4PLA", which will feature many attractive spaces that will become a new symbol of Sapporo, such as a food and drink bar, a meeting spot where you can watch the tram, and an indoor park!

"4PLA" will be located in the Odori area, the heart of Sapporo, at the "4-chome Jujigai" scramble intersection at Minami 1 Nishi 4. This is the location where "4-chome Plaza," a popular youth culture hub, stood for 50 years. "4PLA" has evolved for a new era while inheriting that history and the nickname "4-pla."

The name of the building is "Sapporo 4-chome Place." The basement floor to the third floor will be a commercial facility called "4PLA," and the fourth to thirteenth floors will be used as office space. In addition, the first and third floors will be a shared space called "Machi no Living" that anyone can use, and it will become a new hub in the Odori district of Sapporo, visited by Sapporo residents and tourists alike.

ODORiBA Odori Bar

"ODORiBA Odori Bar" will be available on the basement floor! Seven unique stores will be gathered under the concept of "a bar district where you can drink during the day." It features a spacious space with a ceiling height of 5.5m, and can be used for a wide range of occasions, from lunch to drinking at night. In addition, art made from upcycled interior materials used in the former "4th Plaza" will be displayed. It will be a space where the past and the future intersect.

4PLA SPOT

The first floor is lined with retail stores that are the face of the building, as well as a new meeting spot for Odori, "4PLA SPOT." Located right in front of the tram "Nishi 4-chome Station" and adjacent to a cafe stand, it's the perfect place to meet up or take a quick break with a cup of coffee. It's sure to be a convenient and comfortable space for users of the Sapporo tram and subway.

4PLA PARK

The second and third floors are lined with shops where you can enjoy shopping and eating and drinking. The highlight is the indoor park "4PLA PARK" on the third floor. With plants and artificial turf, it is like an urban park that can be enjoyed even in winter. This area also has container-type stores, making it a great place to drop in for a quick shopping trip or a break. In addition, the outer perimeter is an outdoor terrace where you can relax and enjoy the atmosphere of Sapporo city.

4PLA PARK

The 4th to 13th floors of Sapporo 4-chome Place are environmentally friendly office space. It uses 100% renewable energy and has been certified as a "zero carbon promotion building." The office space is suitable for the future.

"Re-Bear Project" image

Events will also be held in the run up to the grand opening in spring 2025. At 4PLA PARK on the third floor, a unique event called the Re-Bear Project will be held. Wooden carved bears that have been lying dormant in homes and warehouses will be reborn as contemporary art by local artists.

It's extremely accessible! It's directly connected to the Odori subway station, and is also right in front of the Nishi 4-Chome tram station. It's located in the center of Sapporo, so it's easy to access from anywhere.

"4PLA" and "Sapporo 4-chome Place" have inherited the history of "4-chome Plaza" while evolving into the future. They are filled with spaces that make everyday life a little more special, such as an underground bar, an indoor park, and convenient shared spaces. We can't wait until the spring of 2025 when a new landmark will be born in the Odori district of Sapporo!
