2 Hoheikyo Dam

As one of Japan's leading autumn foliage spots, Hoheikyo Dam is highly popular among international tourists as well. Here, you can enjoy the magnificent nature woven by Lake Jozan and the Senjo-iwa Crags, along with the scenic beauty of one of Hokkaido's premier arch dams.

It is a scenic spot surrounded by steep rock slopes, creating a spectacular landscape combined with the dam's dynamic sightseeing water discharge. It has been selected as one of the "100 Best Water Sources Forests" by the Forestry Agency and one of the "100 Best Dam Lakes."

3 Sapporo Kokusai Ski Resort

This comprehensive ski resort is located near Jozankei Onsen. In autumn, the 8-person gondola used for skiing in winter transforms into the "Autumn Leaves Gondola," taking you to the summit where you can enjoy a panoramic view of Ishikari Bay.

On Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, the "Autumn Flavor Festival," featuring food from all over Hokkaido, is held concurrently. You can enjoy both the beautiful autumn leaves and the delicious tastes of Hokkaido's autumn.

4 Oku-Jozankei Kamui no Mori

This Sapporo orchard is a place where you can enjoy various fruit picking and fishing until early November. In autumn, it's also a popular spot offering a breathtaking 360-degree view of the fall colors.

In addition to fruit picking, you can enjoy various attractions such as tree trekking, a zip line, and an orchard garden where you can experience the harmony of seasonal fruit trees and flowers with all five senses.

5 Mt. Hakkenzan

Mt. Hakkenzan is covered with a forest of deciduous broad-leaved trees such as painted maple, Japanese linden, and katsura, attracting many visitors in the autumn to enjoy the foliage. At the foot of the mountain, the Japanese elder also turns a vibrant red.

The area around Mt. Hakkenzan is known for its fruit cultivation, with tourist farms where you can pick fruit and facilities for horseback riding experiences, allowing you to enjoy activities along with the autumn leaves.
