Domingo will introduce a model route that allows visitors to collect stamps while enjoying a fun trip around southern Hokkaido. Traveling with us again this time is Yukine the Rabbit, Snow Miku's pet character!

Rabbit Yukine

Rabbit Yukine is the pet character of "Snow Miku," a character that supports Hokkaido, and was created in 2014 as a pet for "Snow Miku," a character chosen from a public contest for "animals and other characters inspired by Hokkaido's winter.

8:45 departure from HIRASHU AIRPORT

This time, we will start from Okadama Airport. Take part in the Bingo Stamp Rally before boarding your flight to Hakodate. Scan the QR code with your smartphone to access the official website. Enter your name and password, and you are ready to participate! Now it's time to board the plane and head for Hakodate Airport! The Bingo Stamp Rally allows you to get stamps based on your location after checking in, so there is no need to search for a stamp stand.

Approximately 40 minutes by plane from Okadama Airport to Hakodate Airport.

9:25 Arrive at Hakodate Airport (with stamps)

After 40 minutes flight from Okadama Airport, you will arrive at Hakodate Airport, the southern gateway to Hakodate. Get your first stamp "Airport" here. From here, use the "Let's go Nippon! HOKKAIDO LOVE!

This "Let's go Nippon! HOKKAIDO LOVE! Douchi Gurutto Wari" offers a bus ticket for use upon arrival at the airport to those who make a reservation 7 days prior to boarding (Special Flight 7). The discount for the bus is 50%, so a shuttle bus to Hakodate Station costs 250 yen instead of 500 yen per adult! Tickets can be obtained at the departure airport check-in counter, so head there first after you get off the plane.

Take the shuttle bus from Hakodate Airport to JR Hakodate Station (approx. 20 min. by shuttle bus).

10:00 JR Hakodate Station (with stamp)

Once you arrive at Hakodate Station, you will get a stamp for Station B, so please take it. In addition, it is recommended to purchase a one-day streetcar ticket ahead of time for later use at the tourist information center in front of the station. Hakodate Station was recently renovated in 2016. In front of the station, there is a monument depicting a father and son and a large gate symbolizing the Shinsengumi, making it a perfect spot for commemorative photos.

10:00 Hakodate Morning Market

Once you arrive in Hakodate, go first to see the delicious seafood. A five-minute walk from the station brings you to Hakodate's representative market, Hakodate Morning Market. Hakodate Asaichi is a market with about 250 stores. As the name "morning market" implies, it opens early in the morning. Enjoy the lively atmosphere as you browse around the market. You can see large crabs, freshly caught fish, and a selection of souvenirs.

After touring the morning market, it is finally time for lunch. Of course, no visit to a morning market is complete without a bowl of colorful seafood rice topped with a variety of delicious-looking ingredients. Hakodate Asaichi has many restaurants and eateries perfect for lunch gathered in Donburi Yokocho. The kaisendon bowls are filled to the brim with a variety of ingredients, and there is a wide selection to choose from, so be sure to find one to your liking.

Once you have filled your stomach, it is time to take the streetcar to Goryokaku.

Take the Hakodate City Tram from Hakodate Ekimae to Goryokaku Koen-mae (Goryokaku Park) and walk for about 15 minutes.

Goryokaku is one of the most famous landmarks in Hakodate! It is famous as a historic fortress that was the scene of the Boshin War. During the winter season, when you can enjoy the view in a relaxed atmosphere, we recommend viewing the view from Goryokaku Tower. The Goryokaku seen from the second floor of the observation deck is covered with snow, creating a mysterious atmosphere. The star shapes floating in the snowy landscape are a must-see! Day 2 starts with breakfast at the hotel! Your stomachs will be satisfied with the breakfast, which offers a full range of seafood. After checking out of the hotel, head to Hakodate Station. Today we will head north by train.

From JR Hakodate Station, take the Hokuto No. 7 limited express train for approximately 28 minutes to JR Onuma Koen Station, then walk approximately 4 minutes to the hotel.

You have arrived at Onuma Park with its beautiful and refreshing scenery! After a day of fun and a hungry stomach, let's go looking for a delicious Onuma lunch. Here at Mori Shoten, you can enjoy delicious curry, the owner's specialty. The warmth of the wood-burning stove warms you up in the natural taste of the restaurant, where you can feel the warmth of the wood.

The aroma of spices wafting through the air as you are served Mori Shoten's famous "Hokke Curry! The slightly spicy curry goes well with the melted tartar sauce on top of the crispy fried fish. A one-minute walk from Mori Shoten, you will arrive at "Numa-no-ie," a famous store for Onuma dango (dumplings)! When you come to Onuma, you can't miss these Onuma dango. The appearance of many small dumplings in a fold is said to be based on the motif of islands floating in the lake.

Onuma dango are available in two varieties: red bean paste and soy sauce, or sesame and soy sauce, and the taste is so refined that you can eat as many as you like. The train ride will take about 30 minutes. The journey continues as we enjoy the delicious dango.

We arrived at Mori Station with the coastline on the side. Here we came to purchase Mori's specialty ikameshi to eat on the way home! At Shibata Shoten, just to the left as you exit the station, you can purchase Mori Town's specialty ikameshi. Put the soft boiled squid and glutinous rice with sweet and spicy sauce in your mouth, and the juicy and tender taste will spread in your mouth. If you are tempted to eat the ikameshi right away, you will have to hold back your desire to go to Yakumo Town to see the bears!

As the birthplace of the wooden bear carving, Yakumo Town here exhibits a large number of works ranging from large, powerful wooden carvings of bears to cute wooden carvings of bears. Visitors can learn about the long history of bear wood carving as a folk craft!
