Experience Playing Ice Instruments at the Sapporo Snow Festival, Linked with the Sapporo TV Tower!
The 73rd Sapporo Snow Festival is back in person for the first time in three years! At the Odori Site 2-chome, you'll find ice instruments that, when played, link up with a special display on the Sapporo TV Tower. So, what's this all about?
Play Ice Instruments and Control the Sapporo TV Tower Lights!?
At the "Let's Create Sapporo's Nightscape Together! Play the Ice Instruments and Light Up the Sapporo TV Tower!" event at the Odori Site 2-chome, an "Ice Marimba" and "Ice Timpani" will be on display. This brand-new interactive experience allows you to play them, and the surrounding lights, as well as a special display on the Sapporo TV Tower, will sync with your performance.

Visitors can actually play the ice instruments, and controlling the surrounding illuminations at the same time promises to be an experience like no other.

Additionally, on the first day, February 4th (Sat), and on the 7th (Tue) from 17:00 to 17:10, there will be special live performances by professional musicians to demonstrate the instruments.
Special Sound and Light Show at the Snow Miku Snow Sculpture
At the same site, there will also be a snow sculpture of "Snow Miku (Hatsune Miku)," a character that supports Hokkaido. During the festival, a "SNOW MIKU 2023 Sound and Light Special Show" will be held daily from 17:55 to 22:00 (a 5-minute show starting at 55 and 25 minutes past each hour). This mini-show will feature a light-up display set to the event theme song for the "SNOW MIKU 2023" festival, "SnowMix♪," bringing the snow sculpture to life.

These initiatives are managed by "NoMaps," which organizes festivals in Hokkaido centered on technology, entertainment, and creativity. The event also serves as a demonstration of the "COUGEN" system, a technology and application developed by Crypton Future Media, INC. for synchronizing sound and light.

※Please note that the experience may be temporarily suspended in case of large crowds, bad weather, or equipment failure.
※Registration for the experience starts at 16:30 on the day of the event. Numbered tickets will be distributed if there are many participants. Please be aware that the number of tickets is limited.
※The experience is not available during the "SNOW MIKU 2023 Sound and Light Special Show" (daily for about 5 minutes from 17:55 / 18:25 / 18:55 / 19:25) and during the special live performances on Feb. 4 and 7 (17:00-17:10).
