Abashiri Drift Ice Sightseeing Icebreaker Aurora
The standard for winter drift ice sightseeing is the Aurora drift icebreaker. The power of the ship as it moves forward while colliding with the ice blocks spreading across the Sea of Okhotsk is overwhelming. The condition of the drift ice changes depending on the weather of the day, so the best part of the cruise is seeing what kind of scenery you can see. Okhotsk Drift Ice Museum
The facility displays real drift ice, and in a fantastic space created with light and sound, you can experience the changes of a day in Abashiri, where drift ice has arrived. The "Drift Ice Live" is footage taken with a 360-degree camera, making you feel as if you are diving into the sea of drift ice. In the impressive "Five-sided Theater," you can watch 4K footage of drift ice and the creatures and nature living under the drift ice. You can also enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view throughout the four seasons from the rooftop observation space.

Cape Notoro
Cape Notoro, which juts out into the Sea of Okhotsk, is home to only a lighthouse and an office. However, there are no obstacles around, and the view from there is spectacular! You can see the Sea of Okhotsk, Lake Notoro, the coast of Tokoro Town, and even the Shiretoko mountain range in the distance, and in winter you can see the drift ice washing into the Sea of Okhotsk directly below you. You can enjoy the vast nature of Hokkaido and scenery that can only be seen in the Sea of Okhotsk.

The 60th Abashiri Okhotsk Drift Ice Festival
A major winter event held in Abashiri, the city of drift ice. In addition to the ever-popular ice slide, ice sculptures made by locals, and drift ice ring toss where you can win luxurious seafood such as crabs, there are various other events, including stage events. In addition, gourmet foods unique to Abashiri that will warm your body, such as Abashiri Chanpon and Shijimi Soup, are also sold.

Enjoy with all your senses!! Fat bike experience tour
This is an experiential tour where you can enjoy Abashiri in the harsh winter with all five senses by riding a fat bike with thick tires. You will cycle through the Okhotsk coastline covered in drift ice in the middle of winter. What the ocean looks like depends on the day. A guide will accompany you, so not only fat bike beginners, but adults and children alike can enjoy the tour with peace of mind.

Ice Falls Snow Adventure
This is an activity where you walk to see the spectacular views of drift ice and ice falls. You will put on snowshoes and take a leisurely stroll through the silent, sparkling white forest, aiming to see the drift ice floating in the Sea of Okhotsk and the dynamic ice falls. Walking along the coast of Okhotsk, where drift ice is rolling in, is a spectacular experience.

Drift ice sightseeing boat Garinko
When it comes to drift ice sightseeing in Monbetsu, the drift ice sightseeing ship Garinko-go is the one that comes to mind. The ship breaks up the drift ice as it moves forward, and the sight of the broken pieces of drift ice piled up together is very impressive. The beautiful colors created by the broken drift ice and the seawater are a mysterious world that only those who ride on board can experience. The ship is operated by two ships, the previous model Garinko-go II and the Garinko-go III IMERU.

Okhotsk Tower, an observation tower for the ice sea
The world's first underwater ice observation tower stands at the tip of a breakwater about 1 km offshore. From the observation room you can get a 360-degree view of the Okhotsk Sea, and on the underwater floor there are 11 underwater windows that allow you to see into the ocean, as well as a photo corner for sea angels and an exhibition of marine life in the Sea of Okhotsk. You can observe not only the drift ice in winter but also various marine life ecologies throughout the four seasons.

Hokkaido Prefectural Okhotsk Drift Ice Science Center "GIZA"
A science museum standing beside the Sea of Okhotsk where you can experience drift ice. The attraction is the exhibition room with the theme of drift ice, where you can actually see, touch and experience it. In addition, the severe cold experience room is a popular corner that recreates the world of minus 20 degrees in the middle of winter. You can also touch real drift ice exhibits and experience freezing soap bubbles.

The 62nd Monbetsu Drift Ice Festival
This is Monbetsu's biggest winter event where you can enjoy fantastic ice sculptures and a variety of events. The main ice sculpture "Soujiji Soin" made from natural ice with a focus on transparency is a masterpiece! There are also plenty of activities such as the "Okhotsk Drift Ice Pulling Human Banba Competition" held for the first time in five years, ice slides, and ice rinks. There will also be stage events with popular comedians and enka singers, and a food market where you can enjoy delicious gourmet food unique to Monbetsu.

Drift Ice Excursion 2025
This is an experience event where you can enjoy the winter scenery of the Sea of Okhotsk covered with drift ice. While walking along a snowy road of about 2.5 km, you can learn more about wild birds and drift ice with a professional guide's commentary at Shiosai Beach. The walk in the clear air while feeling the majestic nature is exceptional. After reaching the goal, you will be served a hot pork soup, which will warm both your body and your soul. You can also enjoy winter activities such as snow rafting and banana boating.

Cape Puyuni
A scenic spot where you can get a panoramic view of the beautiful coastline of Okhotsk and Utoro Port. It is located on the uphill stretch on the way from Utoro to the Shiretoko Nature Center, and in winter, it is a spot where you can see drift ice in the Sea of Okhotsk early on. You can see as far as the mountains of Akan Mashu National Park. It is a beautiful spot not only during the day, but also for the sunset, and the contrast between the drift ice and the sunset enhances the beauty even more.

Ikushina Primeval Flower Garden
Facing the Sea of Okhotsk, this is a scenic spot overlooking the Shiretoko mountain range. From February to March, you can get a close-up look at the drift ice that covers the entire area. Incidentally, from the end of June to early July, the area is filled with blooming rosehips and Siberian lilies, creating an atmosphere unique to a primeval flower garden. This is a spot where you can experience the charms of Okhotsk nature in every season.

Godzilla Rock Sightseeing Drift Ice Walk
This is an activity that you can enjoy freely, such as walking on the drift ice that comes to Shiretoko, climbing the ice, and sometimes floating in the cold sea. Even if you can't swim, you can wear a dry suit made of a material that floats in water and move around comfortably.
