In the spring of 2023, on April 9th, the Mashu Bus Sauna opened on the grounds of TESHIKAGA HOSTEL MISATO in Teshikaga! It looks like a bus on the outside, but it's an authentic sauna on the inside. This is the first time in Hokkaido that a bus formerly used for transporting people has been converted into a sauna.

A New Attraction in Teshikaga

Born from the desire to "create a new landmark for the people of Teshikaga," the bus sauna features an exterior in "Mashu Blue," the same color as the famous Lake Mashu. The moment you open the door, an authentic sauna experience begins, enveloping you in the scent of hinoki cypress and herbs.

An Authentic Sauna Inside a Bus

The interior features benches with gentle, flowing curves, and beyond them, a wood-burning stove and sauna stones. You can experience temperatures exceeding 100°C, and you can also adjust the temperature by choosing where to sit.

Furthermore, the water poured over the stones is herbal water from Fattoria Ricco, an herb farm in Teshikaga. You can also enjoy the aroma of organic herbs.

Available Morning and Night & Refresh with Sound

Morning and evening sauna sessions are also available. The sauna and shower room are equipped with high-quality speakers, and healing music helps to promote refreshment.

An Extraordinary Experience: Outdoor Air Baths and Cold Plunges in Nature

In addition, you can feel an extraordinary sense of escape with an outdoor air bath and a cold plunge in the vast nature of Teshikaga, including a cold water bath made from a dairy farm milk tank.

The sauna room is lavishly lined with hinoki cypress and features distinctive curved benches inspired by the shape of Lake Mashu.
