Lake Mashu in winter (Teshikaga Town)
I look forward to this snowshoe hike on the outer rim of Lake Mashu every year.
On this day, the trees were completely white with rime and the contrast with the deep blue of Lake Mashu was beautiful.

Lake Mashu is known as "Mashu Blue" for its deep blue color, and the scenery reflected on the surface of the lake is spectacular!
There are three observation decks, each with a different view of Lake Mashu, so be sure to find your favorite position 🔍.
Powerful steam locomotive (Shibecha Town)

The "SL Winter Marshland Train" 🚂 runs between JR Kushiro and Shibecha Stations from January to March.
It is a popular winter sightseeing event in Kushiro, with many people visiting the area not only to ride the train but also to see it run through the silvery white Kushiro Marshland.
Golden Diamond Dust (Kamifurano Town)
Morning light creates art beyond our imagination.
I always get excited before the sun rises to see what kind of art will appear.
The gold diamond dust that appeared on this day was so beautiful that it made me forget the coldness of -21℃.

Kamifurano is a popular tourist destination for its lavender and natural beauty, but it also offers beautiful scenery in winter.
It would be a good idea to visit Kamifurano next winter to see the diamond dust, which can be seen only when the temperature and conditions are right ❄.
