"Toi" is an organic bakery that sits alone in the middle of nature, where the taste of wheat permeates your body.
"Welcome! How have you been?" Takako greets us with a bright smile and in Kansai dialect, while Chusei concentrates on preparing bread in the wood-fired oven in the back. The bread at "toi", run by these two, has a warm taste that makes you feel like you're sharing in the happiness.
It appears alone in the clear air of nature. Parking is available for about three cars.
"Toi" is located next to a rye field away from the center of Otofuke Town, and its quiet appearance makes it seem like a scene from a picture book. When you visit for the first time, you will probably feel anxious and think, "I can only see fields, but is there really a bakery in such a remote place...?" Don't worry! There is one! (laughs)
As you approach the store, you will be greeted by the gentle aroma of wheat floating softly on the breeze.
If you call, you can reserve it.
Each one is different and each one is delicious. Organic bread that your body will love.
When you enter the shop, you'll see a wide variety of breads. The "croissants" are characterized by their moderate sourness and fragrant aroma, making them a great snack, while the "white bread" has a chewy texture that's perfect for breakfast. They also offer daily specials such as "peanut butter sandwiches" and "anko butter sandwiches." As the selection gradually decreases in the afternoon, we recommend coming as early as possible ◎ Each bread is unique and delicious, so be sure to try all the varieties!
On this day, granola was being prepared in a wood-fired oven.
Toi's breads are made from organically grown wheat in Hokkaido, ground in a stone mill every morning, fermented with homemade natural yeast, and baked in a wood-fired oven. They are all characterized by their understated deliciousness. Because they value the original aroma and flavor of the wheat flour, they are delicious whether sliced and heated, or simply eaten as is.
Cheese, wine, bread and plenty of other delicious things
They also sell homemade marmalade and confitures, cheeses from "Happy Cheese Factory" and "Cheese Factory Chicap", and natural wines from around the world, which go perfectly with bread. Come to toi to make your home-cooked meals even more colorful.
There is no eat-in space, but if the weather is nice you can enjoy your bread on a bench outside surrounded by nature.
They also have a wide selection of take-out drinks, including "homemade lemonade" and "plum soda"! It's a bakery that's worth the trip, even if it's a little far away. Why not stretch your legs and take a drive to "toi"?
Good news for people who live far away and find it difficult to go shopping! Toi's "Omakase Delivery"
If you are far away, we recommend the "Omakase" service. You will receive a set of 4 basic types of bread (white, black or falconbrot, brown, brioche paysanne) and an assortment of other breads, totaling 5 to 7 types. There are two sets available, 5,000 yen and 3,000 yen, and they will be shipped within 10 days after payment is confirmed.
