Look for the Muroran motifs that Muroran-kun appeals to you!
Muroran-kun is decorated with six Muroran motifs. Some of them are from history textbooks, some are local delicacies, and some are still little-known!
1. Monozukuri (manufacturing) plant
The group of factories that have supported the foundations of Japanese manufacturing, including the steel industry, is one of the symbols of Muroran. What comes out of the chimneys is mainly water vapor.
2. Iron Bolt
Muroran is known as the "City of Iron" in textbooks. The iron is represented by a bolt stuck in the head like Frankenstein.
3. The uninhabited island of Daikokujima
Daikoku Island and its lighthouse in the sea once served as a beacon for many ships. The combination of the setting sun and the silhouette of Daikoku Island is a hauntingly beautiful sight.
Shiratori Bridge
Boasting a total length of 1,380 meters, this is the longest suspension bridge in eastern Japan. In recent years, tours that allow visitors to climb the legs of the bridge, known as the main tower, have become popular with participants.

6. Night view of factories
Muroran City is the only city in Hokkaido that is a member of the "Night Views of Factories City Council," which works with other factory towns across the country. The sparkling lights of factories are different from ordinary nightscapes.
How was it? There are still other specialties such as "Muroran Curry Ramen", "Black Carp", "Light up the Survey Mountain", "Great View of Cape Earth", etc., but you can't cram them all in.
