Camping, gourmet food, and hot springs! When it comes to marine leisure, "Michi-no-Eki Mitsuisi" in Shin-hidaka
Michi-no-Eki Mitsuisi (Road Station) in the town of Shin-hidaka is located in a park overlooking the magnificent ocean. You can play on the beach and enjoy BBQ, of course, but you can also enjoy the outdoors at the nearby auto-camping site or relax at the kelp hot springs. On the way home, you can eat Hidaka's specialty and look for souvenirs! In this issue, we will introduce such attractive Michi-no-Eki Mitsuishi and its surrounding facilities!
A base for marine leisure activities overlooking the Pacific Ocean
Michi-no-Eki Mitsuishi is located in Mitsuishi Seaside Park along Route 235, which runs along the coastline of the Donan and Hidaka regions. It overlooks the Pacific Ocean, and is a base for marine recreation, with a well-equipped auto campground nearby, Mitsuishi Kombu Hot Spring "Kurasan", and Hidaka Fishery Cooperative Association "Local Products Sales Center".
The area is especially crowded with campers and families in summer. Playing on the shore and having BBQ while looking out at the sea is exceptional! The campground can be used not only for overnight stays but also for day trips.
I tried "Tsubusoba" at a restaurant I was interested in!
If you come to Michi-no-Eki Mitsuishi, you should definitely stop by this store in the parking lot with the impressive sign "Lighthouse Tsubu Kushiyaki".
This restaurant offers dishes using Mitsuishi's specialty kelp and tsubu as ingredients, and "tsubu soba" is one of its popular menu items.
The dark soy sauce broth with kelp broth, soba noodles, and tsubu soba are a perfect match! It is a delicious dish that will surely make you repeat the experience of feeling the bounty of the sea. According to the manager, the "grilled lighthouse whelk skewers" are also very popular and sell out quickly.
