Sapporo City

A snowboarding event will be held in the city of Sapporo! And in September! SNOW SMASH Supported by SNOWBANK" will be held on September 16 (Sat.) and 17 (Sun.), 2023. We will introduce not only the appeal of this exciting event, but also the concept of holding the event under the theme of "social contribution that starts with fun.

What is "SNOW SMASH"?

SNOW SMASH

Snowboarding is a winter sport that has influenced music and fashion, and is enjoyed by everyone from children to adults. SNOW SMASH" is an event where visitors can experience the appeal and power of snowboarding. The venue is right under the Sapporo TV Tower, the former site of NHK Sapporo Broadcasting Station.

SNOW SMASH

SNOWBANK's preparations for the Tokyo Snow Festival. The course will be completed with artificial snow after this event.

In the snowboard contest "SNOW SMASH Session," top riders representing Japan will gather in large numbers! In addition to Kaito Hamada, who competed in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, riders such as Rikuto Watanabe, Ryoki Ogawa, and Kosuke Otomo will battle it out with their impressive riding techniques.

Social Contribution through Fun" Learn about blood donation and bone marrow donation through snowboarding.

Live music will also be held during the event, with performances by Riku Nakanishi, Shiorine, Fuga (from Rofu) & KATSUAKI, DaCow & JACE FLEX, RAFUUU, and Shi-Bo (Braemen).

There will also be sledding, kitchen cars, and other events for the whole family to enjoy.

The theme of this event is "Social Contribution Starting with Fun," and the event also provides an opportunity to learn about blood donation and the bone marrow donor registry through snowboarding and to take action. In addition to blood donation at the event site, there will be a booth to learn about bone marrow donor registration.

We spoke with Gohei Sato, producer of SNOWSMASH, who will be running the event.

Gohei Sato

SNOW SMASH

SNOWSMASH Producer (Adult Co., Ltd. / Master of Adult Za)

After graduating from Sapporo Minami High School on a regular course, he went on to university. He obtained a Registered Dietitian and worked at a hospital and as a Hokkaido employee. She was invited to join Adult Inc. by her junior high school classmate, the sister of Adult Inc. representative Igarashi (now LANDRESS Inc. representative Oe), and is currently the business manager of the coworking cafe bar Adultza / bub babys. She is also active as a part-time lecturer at a university and a futsal school.

Snowboarding has become widely known as a winter sport, partly due to the success of Japanese athletes in the Olympics. However, I feel that competitions in Japan are still in their infancy compared to those overseas in terms of audience mobilization and media relations.

Still, snowboarding is attracting attention as a sport that has a high affinity with music and fashion, and has a street atmosphere even though it is a snow mountain sport. We hope that this event will provide an opportunity for people who do not normally have contact with snowboarding to experience snowboarding in the heart of Sapporo in autumn, and that it will become a place where people can experience snowboarding as a lifelong sport as well as a competitive sport, and that Sapporo and Hokkaido will become a region where everyone from children to the elderly can enjoy snowboarding.

The event will be held in cooperation with SNOWBANK, which organizes snowboarding events under the theme of "social contribution starting from fun," and will provide an opportunity for young people who do not usually visit blood donation rooms to learn about blood donation and bone marrow banking and take action.

We hope that this activity will create new snowboarding fans and contribute to society while having fun at the event.
