Big fishing flag and blue sky (Hakodate City)
The Minamikayabe Hirome Boat Festival was held for the first time in four years in the Minamikayabe district of Hakodate.
The festival is very lively with each district's fishing boats decorated with big fishing flags and praying for a big catch.

Hakodate's "Minamikayabe Hirome Boat Festival" 🏳 was held for the first time in four years this June.
As a festival to express gratitude for the bounty of the sea and the fishing port, and to pray for a bountiful catch, fishing boats decorated with big fishing flags and lanterns are unveiled!
The main event, a powerful boat paddling race, is also a must-see.
The foot of Mt. Hakuun and Asahidake (Kamikawa Town)
I photographed the area around the base of Asahidake (裾平) from Hakuun-dake (白雲岳) in September.
The "zebra pattern" in the lingering snow season is wonderful, but the autumn foliage season is just as great, and I am always captivated by the spectacular view of the terrain and colors of this area.

The Daisetsu Mountains are one of the first areas in Hokkaido where you can enjoy the autumn leaves 🍁.
Many people will visit this area for autumn leaf viewing in the coming season!
Don't miss out on enjoying the various expressions of nature depending on the time of year and weather 👀.
A parent and child of red-crowned crane (Kushiro City)
We came to Kushiro City Tantou Crane Memorial Park because we heard that we could see red-crowned crane chicks.
The scenery of a couple raising their young in a friendly manner was very moving.

This is a spot where you can observe the world's rarest red-crowned cranes in their natural habitat 🔍.
About 10 red-crowned cranes are always kept in captivity and can be observed at any time of the year!
If the timing is right, you can even see the precious sight of chicks giving birth and raising their young.
