Many of you have probably been to Poppo, located in the food court of Ito-Yokado, at least once with your family or friends. However, Poppo continues to close nationwide, and in Hokkaido, "Ito-Yokado Obihiro" will close on June 30, 2024, and "Ito-Yokado Tonden" in Sapporo will close on July 28, 2024. In this issue, we will introduce five recommended menu items that you must order at Poppo, a cosmopolitan restaurant where you can enjoy with friends and family!

French Fries

First, there are many people who associate Poppo's with French fries. The fries come in a paper container with the word "Poppo" printed on it, and the price is a bargain at 180 yen for a small portion (all prices listed include tax). The crispy texture and salty taste are addictive. Other sizes are also very reasonably priced, with the Yamadomori at 350 yen and the Mega-Mari at 520 yen. It is recommended to share with friends.

Shoyu Ramen

Shoyu Ramen" is another very popular menu item at Poppo. The thick soy sauce soup is well balanced with the firm, original thin noodles, and the price is 520 yen. In addition to a choice of four standard flavors (soy sauce, miso, salt, and tonkotsu), there is also a selection of toppings such as a boiled egg and half a piece of chashu pork for 50 yen, or four pieces of chashu pork for 150 yen.

Ramen set for children

The "Children's Ramen Set" comes with a small bowl of ramen, juice, and jelly for dessert. Many of you may have fond memories of going to Poppo's with your family and ordering this set. The soy sauce ramen comes with a generous portion of corn, and for only 300 yen, children will happily eat this divine set by themselves! In fact, the price of Poppo's has been slightly revised due to the recent rise in raw material costs, but the price of this set remains unchanged. Those who feel that eating out with their family is too expensive can stop by with peace of mind.

Takoyaki

Poppo's takoyaki is filled with the aromatic flavor of takoyaki sauce and bonito flakes. The plump octopus inside makes eating the takoyaki a very satisfying experience. There are two types: 8 pieces (550 yen) and 16 pieces (1,000 yen). It is recommended to share these with friends and family as well.

Soft serve ice cream Hokkaido Milk

Soft serve ice cream (250 yen) is one of Poppo's most popular sweets. As the name suggests, the Hokkaido Milk-flavored soft serve ice cream is made from Hokkaido dairy products and is thick and smooth. It is no wonder that there are so many deep-rooted fans, since they can enjoy authentic soft-serve ice cream at a fast food store.

Taiwanese Ramen

As part of the "Poppo Ramen Travel" series, "Taiwan Ramen" (630 yen) is currently being offered as Aichi Prefecture's local ramen. The special Taiwanese minced meat and the thick, deep, sharp, and spicy soup will whet your appetite. The "Taiwan Mazesoba" (690 yen) is also available, so be sure to order according to your preference.

Poppo's Gacha

We visited Poppo in the Ito-Yokado Tonden Store, which will close on July 28. 24 years after its closure, Poppo's Gacha was offered to commemorate the closure. The gacha was a Poppo acrylic key chain that came out with the words, "Would you like to commemorate the closing? Inside are Poppo's logo, ramen, fries, and other menu items. A little surreal and cute, please try to get one to commemorate your visit.
