The Sapporo City Tram decorated with "Snow Miku," a character supporting Hokkaido, has started its operation. We would like to introduce the design of the streetcars!

What are "Snow Miku" and "Snow Miku Train"?

Snow Miku" is a character that supports Hokkaido, and was created after a pure white snow sculpture of "Hatsune Miku" was made at the 2010 Sapporo Snow Festival. The costume design for "SNOW MIKU," a festival in which Snow Miku plays a leading role, is based on a theme each year and is open to the public. The Sapporo City Tram wrapped with "Snow Miku" in the costume is called the "Snow Miku Train" and has been attracting attention from many fans since its first operation in 2011.

Look at the unintentionally relaxing design! This year's theme is "feast

The theme for the 2024 Snow Miku costume is "feast" in the image of Hokkaido's winter. In addition to Snow Miku, illustrations of soup curry, ramen, Genghis Khan, and other foods that symbolize Hokkaido are scattered on the body of the vehicle, making you hungry just by looking at it!

Most Snow Miku trains are usually blue in color, but the warm colors of this year's design are eye-catching. Illustrator Yutaka Yutaka created the main visual based on shiro's costume design, which was chosen from a public contest.

The train is also filled with Snow Miku!

Inside the train are posters introducing the past Snow Miku trains. Also on display are posters of Hatsune Miku and other virtual singers, as well as autographs of the people who did the character voices for Hatsune Miku and Kagamine Rin/Len.

Autographs are also displayed next to the train.

During the event, Saki Fujita, the voice of the Hatsune Miku character, will be announcing the train! This is truly a space that fans will not want to miss.

The "Snow Miku Train 2024" will run until Sunday, March 24, 2024. Please check the arrival time at major stops on the website of Sapporo City Transportation Business Promotion Corporation before using the train. The annual festival "SNOW MIKU 2024" is also scheduled to be held. The main event of this memorable 15th edition will be held at "Wing Bay Otaru" on February 10 (Sat.) and 11 (Sun.), 2024 (national holiday).
