AOAO SAPPORO, the popular new urban aquarium that opened in Sapporo in July 2023, is collaborating with the beloved "Tabekko Doubutsu" biscuits! The event, "Tabekko Suizokukan meets AOAO SAPPORO," will run for about three months starting from December 2023. Perfect for a winter vacation outing, let's dive into what this exciting event has in store.

"Tabekko Doubutsu" are bite-sized, animal-shaped biscuits that have been a long-selling favorite for 45 years since their creation. Recently, they have gained popularity among a wide range of age groups, with themed concept cafes and pop-up stores opening across Japan.

The collaboration event, "Tabekko Suizokukan meets AOAO SAPPORO," features the "Tabekko Suizokukan" (Tabekko Aquarium) series and will be held for about three months from December 6, 2023 (Wed) to February 29, 2024 (Thu). The characters from "Tabekko Suizokukan" will explore the wonders and charms of various marine creatures.

Now, let's introduce the exciting content of the event!

During the event, "Tabekko Suizokukan Friends Panels" will appear in six locations throughout the aquarium. These panels feature the "Tabekko Suizokukan" characters introducing the highlights of each area in an easy-to-understand way. Additionally, a guidebook with a quiz rally, called the "Wonder Book," will be sold. It focuses on the creatures living in the aquarium, introducing their charms and mysteries.

The "Green Room" on the 6th floor, a botanical garden-like space for relaxation, will be transformed into the "Tabekko Room" for a limited time! It will feature a photo spot where you can take pictures with the "Tabekko Suizokukan" characters, a workshop to create an exclusive collaboration original tote bag, and a shop selling Tabekko Doubutsu merchandise and snacks. An exclusive collaboration clear file, only available here, is also scheduled to be on sale from mid-December.

Mr. Crocodile and Mr. Chick from the "Tabekko Doubutsu" family will be making an appearance at AOAO SAPPORO! A meet-and-greet event will be held where you can enjoy taking commemorative photos with the characters.

A giant, 3-meter-tall "Wonder Tree" will appear at the entrance, decorated with Tabekko Suizokukan characters and merchandise, as well as tags written by the animal care staff detailing the fascinating aspects of the marine creatures they've discovered.
