Sapporo City

National Takino Suzuran Hillside Park, popular for its vast flower fields from spring to fall, is transformed into Takino Snow World in winter, where visitors can enjoy skiing and playing in the snow! Takino Snow World boasts an area of approximately 400 hectares, or 85 times the size of Tokyo Dome, and offers a wide range of activities for children of all ages. Let us show you how you can enjoy Takino Snow World!

Easy access! Open all year round during the season from December 23!

滝野スノーワールド

Takino Snow World is only a 45-minute drive from central Sapporo, and will open for the 2023-2024 season on Saturday, December 23, just before Christmas, and will remain open throughout the season until it closes on Sunday, March 31, 2024! Admission to the park is also free (parking fees are 420 yen for regular vehicles and 1,250 yen for large vehicles separately), making it an attractive and easy outing.

Children and beginners are also welcome! Summary of snow play at Takino Snow World

滝野スノーワールド

Takino Snow World has many snow play spots for children and adults! From skiing and snowboarding, which are the standard winter sports, to tube sledding, which is one of the longest in Japan, and snowshoeing, which allows you to explore the fluffy snow, Takino Snow World offers a variety of unique snow play spots.

Tube sled

滝野スノーワールド

Tube sledding is a specialty of Takino Snow World! The sledding slope here has six 200-meter courses, the largest in Japan. After renting a tube, a rope tow will automatically carry you to the top.

For those who feel a little intimidated by tube sledding, there is also a small sledding course next to the tube sledding course. Tube sleds as well as plastic sleds for children can be rented free of charge, so it is very safe.

Snowshoe

滝野スノーワールド

We recommend using snowshoes to walk on the fluffy snow unique to Hokkaido. You can freely walk in places that were inaccessible during the summer season and experience Hokkaido in winter with your whole body. You can also find footprints of rabbits and raccoons in the park, or just lie down on the snow. Snowshoes can be rented free of charge at the Forest Exchange Center in the Takino Forest zone of the park.

Playing in the soft snow

滝野スノーワールド

If you want to have more fun in the snow, such as building snowmen and tunnels, we recommend the snow play area in the Takino Forest Zone! Since the playground is made of freshly fallen snow, you can dive straight into the snow, have snowball fights, and play freely.

Experience the spectacular scenery of frost flowers and ice falls!

滝野スノーワールド

Takino Snow World is a hot spot not only for playing in the snow but also for enjoying spectacular winter scenery. Frost flowers," which look like flowers blooming on frozen water, may be seen the next morning after it was extremely cold the night before. The "Ice Falls," which occur when water from waterfalls freezes, can be seen at the park's Ashiribetsu Falls and Masumi-no-Taki Falls.

Children and beginners alike can all have fun!

滝野スノーワールド

Takino Snow World is filled with so many snow play activities that a day seems to fly by! Various events are also held during the festival. Why not visit Takino Snow World this winter?
