This is the only "kenka andon" (fighting floats) festival held in Hokkaido!
The sight of the beautiful, large floats crashing into each other is truly spectacular.👀
It seems to be scheduled for mid-August again this year, so be sure to check it out and go!
Spinning Atka Mackerel (Shibetsu Town)
This scene made me feel like I'd truly arrived in a fishing town.
Under the eaves of a small dried fish shop, Atka mackerel were spinning, glittering in the morning sun.
