Ito-Yokado, a general merchandise store that has long been a favorite of the community, has announced the closure of all 17 of its stores in Hokkaido, Tohoku, and Shinetsu; the Obihiro store will close on June 30, 2024, the Tonda store on July 28, and the Kitami store on August 18. As people across the country bid farewell to these stores, the "Ito-Yokado & Poppo Key Chain" has become a hot topic of conversation. The familiar pigeon logo and the Poppo logo from the food court have been made into key chains, and the sales company is reportedly receiving inquiries about purchasing them.

We visited the Tonden store in Sapporo, which is set to close soon, to find out where in the world these key chains can be obtained.

Ito-Yokado & Poppo's Keychain Gacha

We searched all over the first floor of the Tonden store and found them in two places: in front of Poppo's store and in the corner where gachas are grouped together! Both are sold in gacha format, with the message "Thank you for 24 years," and come in two types: Ito-Yokado key chains and Poppo key chains. Both are priced at 500 yen.

There are a total of six types of Ito-Yokado key chains found at the Tonden store. The standard Ito-Yokado pigeon mark, a study book and shopping bag with that mark. In addition, there is a wide variety: Hatson-kun from Ito-Yokado's official character "Hatson Tanteidan," the Yohkado logo mark from 1958, and the exterior of the Tonden store, which is about to close. Ito-Yokado fans will definitely want this one.

Another interesting item is Poppo's key chain. These come in seven varieties: Poppo letter, soy sauce ramen, Imagawa-yaki adzuki, takoyaki sauce (8 pieces), okonomiyaki, potato L, and float (3 kinds). This Poppo key chain gacha is a rare item that is only sold at a few Ito-Yokado stores nationwide. Now is the only time to get one.
