"As expected of Hokkaido" Horses and tanks pop out!? Surprising sign gets 17,000 likes "There are wild tanks out there"
As expected of Hokkaido, not only horses pop out but tanks too lol

Quoted from @koderago's post
Photos of signs reading "Horse Crossing Allowed" and "Watch Out for Tanks Crossing" are garnering attention on social media. In Hokkaido, you can see signs warning of animals like deer and foxes jumping out into the road, but signs featuring horses are rare, and signs featuring tanks are even more rare. This post has garnered over 17,000 likes, with comments such as "As expected of Hokkaido," "Hokkaido is full of animals," and "There are wild tanks out there."
The sign is located in Shikaoi Town, Hokkaido. Why on earth is there a sign like this?

This unusual sign can be found on Route 771 in Shikaoi Town
This sign, photographed by poster Koderago-san, is located along Route 771 in Shikaoi Town, Tokachi. The sign was erected because the Shikaoi Garrison of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force is located nearby. It also appears that this sign is only found in Shikaoi Town in Hokkaido.

Shikaoi Town has many facilities where you can enjoy horse riding
Shikaoi Town is also famous as a town where you can enjoy horse riding. Shikaoi Town Riding Park, located next to Shikaoi Town's Urimaku Roadside Station, is a popular spot where you can experience horse riding, horse riding lessons, riding simulations, and more. For this reason, the "Watch out for horse crossing" signs can also be said to represent the town's distinctive features.

Shikaoi Town Riding Park also hosted grass races and grass-racing competitions until 2022.
These signs, which depict horses and chariots and various aspects of everyday life in the town, seem to intersect, so please be careful when passing by.
