Lodging and meals provided free of charge! Now recruiting "Festival Supporters" to create the Yakumo float parade, a festival in Yakumo Town, together with us!

The Yakumo Float Procession is an annual summer festival held in Yakumo Town, located in the south of Hokkaido, facing both the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Japan. 40 years ago, the town was looking for "festival supporters" to help build the floats that form the centerpiece of the festival. In exchange for helping out, you will be provided with lodging and meals. This is your chance to make the festival more exciting with the local community and make your summer a memorable one!

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the festival! What is the "Yakumo Float Procession" that attracts about 30,000 people?

The Yakumo Float Parade, which marks the beginning of summer in Yakumo Town, is a historic festival that will celebrate its 40th anniversary this year in 2024. What started out as a simple event of local youths pulling a single float through a field has grown into a large-scale festival that attracts about 30,000 visitors each year from within and outside the town. The sight of floats of various designs, full of individuality, parading through the town is a powerful sight.
