The Yakumo Dashi Gyoretsu, which marks the beginning of summer in Yakumo Town, is a historic festival celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2024. It started as a simple event where local youths pulled a single float through a field, but it has now grown into a large-scale festival that attracts about 30,000 visitors from both inside and outside the town each year. The sight of various uniquely designed floats parading through the town is truly spectacular.
Dashi Gyoretsu Camp Village: Open for One Week Only for the Festival
To commemorate the 40th anniversary, a special "Dashi Gyoretsu Camp Village" will open in Yakumo Town for a limited time of about one week, from Saturday, June 29th to Sunday, July 7th. At this camp village, you can participate in float making, enjoy various experience-based activities themed around disaster prevention and ecology, and watch stage performances. It's also planned to be a place for social exchange, allowing for deep interaction with participants from both near and far.

We are looking for "Festival Supporters" to help create this "Dashi Gyoretsu Camp Village," plan and run interesting content, build the festival floats with us, and join in to make the festival a lively success. The support period is from Friday, June 28th to Sunday, July 7th. Participation is free, and accommodation and meals will be provided. During this week, you can take part in a wide range of activities, including float making, event support, and camp village management.
