1 [Southern Hokkaido] Hakodate City: Goryosei no Yume (Dream of the Five-Pointed Star)

In winter, the moat of Goryokaku Park is lit up with about 2,000 light bulbs, outlining the shape of a five-pointed star.
On the first day, Sunday, November 29th, a fireworks display will light up the Hakodate night sky starting at 4:45 PM.
Goryokaku Tower will extend its hours until 7:00 PM, allowing you to enjoy the illumination from its observation deck♪

2 [Central Hokkaido] Sapporo City: The 40th Sapporo White Illumination

Selected as one of Japan's top three illumination events, the "Sapporo White Illumination" is a representative event that colors Sapporo's winter!
Held annually since 1981, it features various types of light displays at Odori Park, Ekimae Dori, and Minami-Ichijo Dori.
The main venue, "Odori Park," is decorated with illuminations of various themes, making it a popular date spot in Sapporo!

3 [Eastern Hokkaido] Hiroo Town: Hiroo Santaland Illumination

Hiroo Santaland is the only Santaland in Japan officially recognized by Norway, the homeland of Santa Claus.
At night, the venue, Daimaruyama Forest Park, sparkles with about 150,000 lights, illuminating the Tokachi night sky.
There are plenty of spots for the whole family to enjoy, such as the "Santa's Bell" zone where you can ring a bell while making a wish, and "Santa's House" where Christmas goods are sold and displayed!

4 [Central Hokkaido] Otaru City/Yoichi Town: Otaru-Yoichi Snow Story

The Otaru-Yoichi Snow Story is held in Otaru City, one of Hokkaido's leading tourist destinations, and its neighboring town, Yoichi.
The "Blue Canal," where about 10,000 LEDs illuminate the Otaru Canal in blue, and the "Wine Glass Tower" set up inside the Canal Plaza are very popular.
In Yoichi Town, the "Amber Dream," a display of about 8,000 sparkling lights inspired by whiskey, warmly welcomes visitors to the town♪

5 [Central Hokkaido] Toyako Town: Lake Toya Onsen Illumination Tunnel

An illumination tunnel featuring about 400,000 lights appears in the "Nigiwai Hiroba" plaza, located in the center of the Lake Toya Onsen district.
The 70-meter-long tunnel is lit up in various colors, fantastically illuminating the historic hot spring town.
The lights are on from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, so it's recommended to enjoy it after warming up in the Lake Toya hot springs♪

6 [Northern Hokkaido] Shimukappu Village: Ice Village

The Ice Village, which appears only on winter nights, is a winter tradition in Tomamu. It's a town of ice with 10 ice domes standing on a 3.2-hectare site.
Since its inception in the winter of 1998, it has continued to offer experiences that can only be enjoyed in the cold.
This year, a new Ice Milk Cafe and Ice Fruit Shop will open, and you can enjoy many cold-weather experiences at the "Ice Terrace" and "Ice Hotel"!

7 [Northern Hokkaido] Asahikawa City: Asahikawa Machiakari Illumination 2020

Starting on Saturday, November 28th, the "Asahikawa Machiakari Illumination 2020" will be held in four areas in the center of Asahikawa, soothing the hearts of its citizens with warm light.
Each area features a different style of display, brightly and gorgeously coloring the snowy town.
The "Friendly Illumination," set up on Japan's first "pedestrian-only street," features various light displays that make walking fun, making it the perfect spot for a winter night stroll!
