First, we will introduce basic information about Shiroi Koibito Park and how to enjoy it. We will also introduce the attractions of the facility in detail. By the time you read to the end, you will surely have mastered how to enjoy Shiroi Koibito Park.
Overview of Shiroi Koibito Park and why it's so popular

There are plenty of picturesque photo spots within the facility
Shiroi Koibito Park is a sweets theme park operated by ISHIYA, the manufacturer and seller of Shiroi Koibito, a souvenir sweet representative of Hokkaido. Since its opening in 1995, it has been a constant source of visitors as one of Sapporo's most famous tourist attractions, popular with tourists as well as locals such as Sapporo residents. The reason for its popularity is that it is a facility where you can see, learn, taste, and experience. Not only can you enjoy eating and shopping, but you can also learn about the history and appeal of chocolate, especially Shiroi Koibito, and have fun in a variety of ways, such as making sweets and taking photos at photo spots.
Access to Shiroi Koibito Park (by car, subway, or bus)

Western castle-like buildings and English courtyards
Although Shiroi Koibito Park is located on the outskirts of Sapporo, it is easily accessible by car, subway, and bus, making it a popular spot where you can enjoy yourself to your heart's content in just half a day.
By car
It is immediately on your right after exiting the Sapporo Nishi IC on the Sasson Expressway. It is about 1 minute after exiting the IC. However, since you can only exit the Sapporo Nishi IC from the Otaru direction, if you are coming by car from New Chitose Airport, you will need to exit at Shinkawa IC, but it is about a 10-minute drive away (time may vary depending on traffic conditions). There are multiple parking lots both inside and outside the premises, so you should not have any trouble finding a place to park.
By subway
It is about a 7-minute walk from Miyanosawa Station, the last stop on the Tozai subway line. Go through the Sapporo City Lifelong Learning Center Chieria, which is directly connected to the station, cross the large road and turn right to arrive at the main gate of Shiroi Koibito Park. The Tozai line also passes through Odori Station in the center of Sapporo and Shin-Sapporo Station, where you can transfer to rapid trains departing from New Chitose Airport, making it convenient for those traveling by public transportation from Sapporo city or New Chitose Airport. By the way, the ride time to Miyanosawa Station is about 16 minutes from Odori Station and about 35 minutes from Shin-Sapporo Station.
By bus
It is about a 7-minute walk from the Nishimachi Kita 20-chome bus stop, which is an express bus heading to Otaru Station via Maruyama from Sapporo Station. This bus is convenient if you are traveling by public transportation from the Otaru area. Note that the express bus between Sapporo and Otaru has a different route and some routes do not pass through Nishimachi Kita 20-chome, so be sure to take the bus via Maruyama.
Things you should know in advance about "paid areas" and "free areas"

You can also have the experience of writing or drawing your favorite words on the heart-shaped Shiroi Koibito.

The production line is on the first floor of the building, so we could see the whole line from above. Watching Shiroi Koibito being mass-produced one after another, we realized that Shiroi Koibito is indeed a popular sweet that represents Hokkaido.

Cafe Butler's Wharf, located on the second floor of Tudor House at the exit of the paid area, is the perfect place to take a break while touring various places. This is a limited edition product only available at this shop, and the white chocolate drink and the sprinkled langue de chat cookies on top go perfectly together.

The food is also substantial. Chicken curry with plenty of shredded chicken.
For those who would rather eat rice instead of pasta or pizza, we recommend "Curry Restaurant Entre Po" located on the first basement floor near the main gate after leaving the building. You can enjoy authentic original curry and soup curry made by a curry chef.

The mechanical clock tower towering over the courtyard
The free area can be enjoyed outdoors as well. One of these is the parade of the mechanical clock tower, which can be seen from the courtyard, which takes place from 10am to 5pm every hour for about 10 minutes (it may be canceled due to weather, etc.). At the top of the hour, a lively parade begins with mechanical animal puppets emerging from the clock tower and other structures. It's a cute and fun parade, and although it may seem aimed at children, it will warm the hearts of adults as well, making you feel like you've come to fairy tale land. Head to the courtyard just before the top of the hour!
The courtyard is decorated with roses in summer and illuminations in winter.

Summer Rose Garden

Winter illuminations
Shiroi Koibito Park is famous for the roses and illuminations in its courtyard. There is a rose garden in the courtyard, and the sight of the roses blooming from spring to autumn, and especially in summer, is stunning! The colors of the roses along with the buildings in the background are very gorgeous and worth seeing. On the other hand, in the winter when it snows, the park is illuminated, and the twilight time just after sunset is particularly spectacular! As long as the weather is not bad, the courtyard is a great spot to view the roses in any season.
